Enforcement project calls for improved safety information to protect workers from chemical hazards
Companies have systems in place to communicate safe use information down the supply chain. However, according to the findings of an EU-wide enforcement project, the quality of this information needs to be improved to protect workers from hazardous chemicals.

Two public consultations launched on proposed restrictions of five cobalt salts and of N,N-dimethylformamide
ECHA has submitted a proposal to restrict the manufacture, placing on the market and use of five cobalt salts: cobalt sulphate, cobalt dichloride, cobalt dinitrate, cobalt carbonate and cobalt di(acetate) (EC -; CAS -).
Italy has submitted a proposal to restrict N,N-dimethylformamide (EC 200-679-5; CAS 68-12-2).
Both consultations are open from 19 December 2018 to 19 June 2019, 23:59 Helsinki time. ECHA’s scientific committees welcome early comments by 1 March 2019 to assist them in the first discussions on the proposals in March 2019.

Update to the intention to restrict skin sensitising, irritative and/or corrosive substances
France and Sweden have updated the submission date of the restriction intention. The new submission date is 12 April 2019.

New substance evaluation conclusions published
New substance evaluation conclusion documents are now available on ECHA’s website for:
- potassium permanganate (EC 231-760-3; CAS 7722-64-7), added to the CoRAP list in 2017 and evaluated by France;
- diallyl phthalate (EC 205-016-3; CAS 131-17-9), added to the CoRAP list in 2013 and evaluated by Spain; and
- silver (EC 231-131-3; CAS 7440-22-4), added to the CoRAP list in 2014 and evaluated by the Netherlands.
