Restriction dossier for Dechlorane Plus™ submitted
Norway has submitted a proposal to restrict the manufacture, use and placing on the market of 1,6,7,8,9,14,15,16,17,17,18,18-dodecachloropentacyclo[12.2.1.16,9.02,13.05,10]octadeca-7,15-diene (“Dechlorane Plus”™) as substances, constituents of other substances, mixtures and articles.
The proposal will now be evaluated by ECHA’s scientific Committees for Risk Assessment (RAC) and Socio-Economic Analysis (SEAC), and subject to consultation. We will shortly ‘pre-publish’ the Annex XV report describing the proposal. A consultation will be launched after RAC and SEAC agree that the report conforms with the requirements of REACH. At the same time, we will formally publish the Annex XV report.

Call for evidence on isoprene
We have launched a call for evidence on isoprene. The aim is to gather new scientific information on the uses, exposure, health effects, toxicology, epidemiology and modes of action of this substance. Any other relevant information is also welcome.
The information will help us to draft the scientific reports related to exposure limits at the workplace.
The deadline is 13 July 2021.

Guidance on safety data sheets now translated in European languages
Our Guidance on safety data sheets has been revised in line with the latest version of Annex II to REACH and translations are now available. The content has been updated to reflect changes introduced by the new legal text, including on nanoforms, the unique formula identifier (UFI), endocrine disrupting properties, and an expanded Section 9 covering physical and chemical properties. It also provides an explanation of the application of the two-year transition period (until the end of 2022).
