Webinar on mixture classification and communicating safe use of mixtures - registration closed

5 November 2014, 11:00 – 13:00 Helsinki Time (EEST, GMT +3)

We have received over 1 000 registrations for the webinar and have reached our maximum capacity. Registration has now been closed but ECHA will repeat the webinar at a later date for those that are not able to attend. The date and time for the next webinar will be communicated through our e-News and published on the ECHA website as soon as possible. We thank you for your understanding and hope you find the webinar useful.

The webinar covers the classification of mixtures and how information on their safe use can be communicated in the supply chain. It aims to help formulators and importers understand and implement their obligations according to the REACH and CLP regulations for mixtures.

In anticipation of the 2015 deadline for classifying mixtures according to CLP, the webinar describes the steps a supplier should take to (re)classify mixtures. It also describes how formulators can handle and communicate the information they receive in exposure scenarios for hazardous substances. The related REACH and CLP obligations are outlined and participants are guided to the wide range of support material that is available to help fulfil their obligations.

16 September 2014, Helsinki

ECHA organises recurring meetings with its accredited stakeholder NGOs to discuss topical issues for civil society interest groups including environmental and animal welfare NGOs, consumer associations, trade unions and academia.

The fifth meeting focused mainly on animal welfare issues with an update on the overlaps and their implications for registrants between the REACH and Cosmetics regulations, the latest developments concerning the second species testing requirement on pre-natal developmental toxicity and ECHA's web page on alternatives and new OECD test methods. The meeting concluded with an update on future joint projects to promote substitution and ECHA's on-going work on developing its approach to transparency.
